They say having faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. RIGHT?!

I know I've been MIA for a hot minute, it was unintentional I promise.
Anyway welcome back to Write Fire With Fire. A little safe space that has been curated for creative chaos. I can't promise that I will be consistent but I can promise to be more intentional with what I put out here. It is always going to be a good read, or at least I hope so...
Sometimes all we can do in this life is have faith that things will get better. That dreaming and hoping will one day bear fruit. Or have we all be delusional, forced to believe fairy tales that do not exist?
I don't know about you but I would rather see the cup half full rather than half empty. Not everything has to be doom and gloom or trust me we would all be crazy by now.
If you have reached this point of the blog and you are wondering where the title comes from, stay with me its going somewhere.
According to our famous friend google, "seeds are a plant embryo and nutrient reserve enclosed in a seed coat, a protective outer covering called a testa. More generally, the term "seed" means anything that can be sown" . Well that sorta makes sense right? It's something you can stick in the ground, water it and in a few days it will sprout. Sometimes its not that easy. Seeds need more than just water and fertile ground they need patience, sunlight and a little bit of TLC.
If we can look at this in a life context, seeds can be a dream or a promise. Something God given that needs more than the sun and some water to grow. For example, God tells you you are going to be a doctor and help save lives one day. You are going to have to go to med school and actually practice in the field of medicine to achieve that right? Let's say you're an eight year old who just thought wearing a lab coat to the schools career day would be cool. That idea may seem a bit far fetched. In reality, putting on that lab coat was planting a seed. That one day working in a hospital and know all these fancy medical terms can be a reality. Faith as small as a mustard seed. It's pretty small but its there. It has the potential to grow, become something big, something that is beyond your imagination.
Listen, 2024 was a hard year. Certainly thought that things will be a bit different than how they turned out to be. But since we are looking at the glass half full... what if it was a year of planting seeds? As the Bible says those who plant seeds of sorrow will reap seeds of joy. All the tears and sleepless nights are worth it. They are little seeds planted and this year we are going to see little spouts growing into hopes and dreams coming to pass. And maybe next year they will become a tree of fulfilled purpose. Purpose established in Christ. he is the tree and we are the branches without Him we cannot grow.
John 15: 1-8 NIV
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
So lets zoom in on verse 8. It's God's glory that we bear MUCH fruit as we show ourselves as Jesus' disciples. God wants us to prosper, to overflow and not only fulfil our purpose but to walk in He's glory every single day. WILD! I know what you gonna say, life isn't that easy and we all can't just be seeds that bear fruit and keep it moving. But truth is you can, if its written in scripture it is absolutely achievable. God didn't call us to be these perfect beings who don't make mistakes, but rather we come to Him broken and all and He restores and makes us whole. Otherwise He would not have died on the cross.
We were not meant to do life alone, we are all part of the vine that allows us to grow and bear fruit. From the moment we were formed in our mothers womb, when we were nothing but a seed waiting to germinate. He called us and made us HOLY.
Note to self: We are seeds in waiting, we have the potential to grow and become something beautiful. To radiate and fulfil a great purpose that is embedded in each of us. Water yourself with love, the word and a godly community. Allow God's glory to shine upon you and dig roots deeper and deeper with every hardship experienced. Don't let anyone dim your shine.
